Community Guidelines
Effective date: July 3, 2026
Sociory is built on three values — community, creativity, and harmony. These guidelines exist to keep it that way. They apply everywhere on Sociory and work alongside our Terms of Service.
Our content standard
Sociory is a space for real people to connect, create, and belong. It is not a place for adult content, gratuitous violence, or extreme content. Harmony is our operative test: content whose purpose or effect is to degrade the community — rather than to share, create, or connect — does not belong here. This is a deliberate, lasting part of who Sociory is.
What isn't allowed
- Sexualizing minors — zero tolerance; removed immediately and reported to authorities.
- Adult / sexually explicit content (pornography).
- Gratuitous violence, gore, or shock content.
- Extreme, harmony-breaking content — dehumanization or hate, gratuitous cruelty, extremist propaganda, or content whose main purpose is to provoke, humiliate, or dominate.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or incitement of violence.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, doxxing, or privacy violations.
- Spam, scams, fraud, or platform manipulation.
- Bots, fake or automated accounts, and evading account rules. One clarification: posting to your own account through the Sociory API — for example, syndicating posts from your own website — is allowed and welcome. The account must belong to a real person, syndicated content shows its source, and everything you post this way follows the same rules as anything else, including AI labeling.
- Undisclosed promotion — if you're paid or otherwise compensated to post something (sponsorships, affiliate content, your own commercial offers beyond your obvious own work), say so plainly on the post. Promotion isn't banned; hiding it is.
- Unlabeled AI content — AI-generated content is welcome only when clearly labeled, and must never be presented as a real person.
- Anything illegal under applicable law.
How moderation works
- Proportionate. Depending on severity and intent, actions range from a warning, to content removal, to temporary suspension, to a permanent ban.
- Human judgment on serious actions. Significant enforcement decisions get a human review — we don't hand your account to an automated filter alone.
- Transparency. If we act on your content, we tell you what rule applied and how to appeal.
- Appeals. You can appeal any action, and it gets a fresh look.
- No surprises. Material changes to these guidelines are announced ahead of time — we don't quietly change the rules on our community.
Reporting
If you come across content that breaks these guidelines, use the Report button on any post, comment, or conversation. Reports go directly to our moderation team; serious safety issues are prioritized. You can also reach us at safety@sociory.com for anything urgent or sensitive.
